The main award 2025 goes to Matthias Jaissle, head coach of the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli, with whom he recently won the AFC Champions League. The award was presented to him by Monika Staab, a pioneer of women’s football and the first female award winner of the association. Jaissle succeeds his former mentor Ralf Rangnick, who was honoured in 2024. The award ceremony took place as part of the expert conference Sport Marke Medien at the International Congress Centre Munich.
The jury highlighted Jaissle’s outstanding sporting achievements in an emerging football region as well as his contribution to the international reputation of German football.

The Audience Award goes this year to Lennart Thy, who currently plays for the Lion City Sailors in Singapore. In 2025, he was the most successful German goalscorer abroad. Off the pitch, Thy previously made headlines when he saved a person’s life by donating stem cells. He was honoured for this with the FIFA Fair Play Award.
Additional special awards went to Nadine Angerer, assistant coach of the Swiss national team, and Daniel Farke, head coach of Leeds United. Through their international work, both make a significant contribution to a positive image of Germany abroad.
The event was hosted by Sylvia Walker (DAZN). As in previous years, the prize money from all categories will support social projects. In cooperation with Common Goal, this year’s funded project was presented on stage: “Equal Play Effect”, an initiative that promotes greater equal opportunity in football.
