With their commitment to #WeKickCorona, the German Football Ambassadors Honorary Award Winners 2020 provide concrete help to charitable associations and social institutions from all areas of society.
The two FC Bayern München national team players Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka are representative of the social commitment of numerous football players during the Corona pandemic. With their private initiative to found WeKickCorona, they have set an example at a time when helpfulness and mutual support are more important than ever. After their private start-up financing of 1 million €, more than 5 million € have been collected for social projects in the meantime. In this context, the prize money for the 2020 Honorary Award also went to support the initiative’s projects.
