With his prize money Jürgen Klinsmann, coach of the US national team, supports the “Soccer for Success” program, a joint project of the US Soccer Foundation and the El Monte Community Building Initiative.

The “Soccer for Success” program is a free afterschool project that uses soccer as a tool to address children’s health issues and juvenile delinquency, while promoting healthy lifestyles in urban underserved communities. In collaboration with community-based organizations like the El Monte Community Building Initiative, the program is able to provide thousands of children with free afterschool programming three times per week for the entire school year.
