Holger Obermann has always been committed in promoting football continuously – he helps and helps and helps wherever he can.
A third project following the ones in Kopan and the Terai was created in 2017 in Koleswor, a district of the Nepalese capital Kathmandu. With the help of several sponsors Obermann had the possibility to build a third football field showing 100 socially disadvantaged boys and girls a new perspective in life. Most of the students come from areas affected by the earthquake. The Youth Football School was designed to help young people return somehow to their normal way of living.
Holger Obermann in Nepal
In April 2015, after the devastating earthquake in Nepal, he built a football field with the support of numerous helpers. Due to this 60 boys and girls were able to train as part of a school project.

The action in Koleswor was well received and the participation rush of interested boys and girls was correspondingly extensive. This fact was used as an opportunity to conduct training sessions early in the morning and late in the evening to give as many children as possible the opportunity to play football, to gain positive impressions and to distance/distract themselves from their everyday lives.
The football school also develops actions that go beyond football, which are directed against racism, involve the care of older people, aim at fair-play actions and contribute to waste disposal in Khatmandu. Head of the local football school is Mr. Rajiv Nepali. All Nepalese coaches were trained by German coaches hence, contributing significantly to the quality of the football school.
The third football school was also made possible thanks to renewed aid provided by German and Swiss sponsors including DFB, DOSB, FIFA, Beckenbauer Foundation, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern Munich, SV labor Wiesbaden, Teutonia Köppern, Adidas and the initiative of Henn Werner Albert, Frankfurt.
Holger Obermann, will undertake his next trip to Nepal in April 2018, in order to create a better impression on the spot. We wish him further success and strength in his ongoing projects and endeavors and are glad to be a small part in building schools in Nepal.
