The non-profit association Deutscher Fußball Botschafter e.V. is launching the "Women.Football.Global." campaign year.
Numerous measures are planned for the campaign year. These range from a nomination and selection phase for German Football Ambassador 2023 to a professional discourse on social development opportunities through women in soccer during the FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. These activities are carried out in coordination with key strategic partners such as the German Foreign Office, the Goethe Institute and Common Goal.
To ensure professional quality at the highest level, the association is assembling a competence team with a wealth of experience. First names from the circle of the soccer ambassador family are: Soccer pioneer Monika Staab (winner main prize 2014), who has been active in more than 80 countries and is currently building up women’s soccer in Saudi Arabia; Doris Fitschen (advisory board member), four-time European champion and currently responsible for women’s soccer at the DFB or Anja Zivkovic, the German Football Ambassador of 2020.
“It is the consistent continuation of our now ten-year commitment to more equal opportunities in soccer, which we would like to crown with this concerted action in the World Cup year,” said President Roland Bischof during his visit to the DFB national team’s training camp in Andalusia, Spain.
