Übergabe der Nominierungsurkunde für die Wahl zum „Deutschen Fußball Botschafter 2016“.
Erich Rutemoeller, former chief of education of the German Football Association, has been chosen as one out of three nominees for the main category „German Football Ambassador 2016“. The nomination ceremony took place at the National Football Center in Paju, Korea. Roland Bischof, founder of the initiative, overhanded the certificate in presence of former international player and representer of the Korean Football Association (KFA) and NFC and Mr. Hatzelmann, First Secretary of the German Embassy in Seoul. Actually Rutemoeller supports the KFA by qualifying Korean coaches to gain the A-license. With his prize money Rutemoeller will support the “Korea Football Love Sharing Foundation” in a project to support North Koreans to harmonize with the Korean society through football related events.
The German coach, who also had been active in Iran and Afghanistan among many other stations in his career, sees a great opportunity in his role as a football ambassador: „I am very pleased that the nomination also recognizes the work of coaches who are out of the spotlight.”
Gernot Rohr (national coach Burkina Faso) and Burkhard Pape (former football development expert), both traveling since over 40 years for the football around the world, have also been nominated for the prestigious prize. In the upcoming two months Deutsche Welle TV (German broadcast station) will produce a video-documentation about the nominees work. Who will become the successer of last years winner Jürgen Klinsmann? The winner will be announced on 11th of May 2016 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin.
