Dr Carolin Braun gained her first experience as a coach abroad in The Gambia before being sent to Botswana for a funded long-term project (2019 – 2022) as part of the Federal Foreign Office’s “International Promotion of Sports Structures in Other Countries”. The main focus was on coach training and talent scouting, among other things. At the same time, she supported the Botswana Football Association (BFA) as Technical Director and was also assistant coach of the men’s national team and advisor to the coaches of the women’s selection teams.

Her prize money will go to the concrete area of Tsholo Setihoko, who, as women’s football manager, heads the area of girls’ and women’s football in Gaborone and takes care of all matters intensively. Dr. Braun gained great insights into the work through her activities in the last few years.
