Dzsenifer Marozsán honoured in Lyon as German Football Ambassador 2023. Roland Bischof, President of Deutscher Fußball Botschafter e.V., presented Dzsenifer Marozsán with the coveted award at her club Olympique Lyon’s final public training session at the Groupama Stadium. With this title, Marozsán became the successor to last year’s winner Ilkay Gündogan, who now plays for FC Barcelona

The vote for the public award was the most exciting in the eleven-year history of this coveted trophy. The winner was separated from runner-up Melanie Leupolz from Chelsea FC by just 0.64%. Sara Däbritz, another Olympique Lyon player, followed in third place.

When the winner found out about her award, she was delighted: “It’s a great honour and I’m very happy about it! It’s always important for me to be a serious, professional and authentic ambassador beyond the borders. Many thanks to all my fans who have supported me so well for so many years. You are amazing!”

At the award ceremony, which was attended by the whole team and numerous fans, President R. Bischof added: “All three categories were won by great ambassadors. The winning trio of Tina Theune and Margret Kratz is now completed by Dzsenifer and sends a strong, likeable signal for women’s football.”
